Using Animation Overlays – Part 2

I have been playing around a bit lately to see what other animations could be used as part of animation overlays. I found a few more interesting ones, and then realized, all the base animations could all be located in one hacked object (instead of the three I was using at first). So this time you are going to need the Photo Poses Box along with Decorgal’s Sitting Talk/Conversation Hack and pfish's Invisible magisplay tray.


Hopefully by now you have all had a chance to try out some of the animation overlays from this tutorial. If you haven’t, I strongly recommend that you try out poses from that tutorial first, since it will make it easier to use these.

First of all choose the base animation from the Photo Poses Box (photo) and let them move completely into that still position. Pause the game and select a non-seated specific animation from the Sitting Talk/Conversation Hack (talk). Cancel the Photo pose and unpause your game. As soon as you sim begins the new animation, pause the game again and place your sim on an invisible magisplay tray. Unpause the game and be ready to take pictures.

Now for the examples I have used four main base poses from the Photo Poses Box:

On the left is photo: female 6 (cancelled) + talk: argue/sock fist and on the right is photo: male 8 (cancelled) + talk: action pos/arms out (hey you).




On the left is photo: couple/sim a/kneeling arm on shoulder (cancelled) + talk: action neg/get attention desperate (arm wave) and on the right is photo: couple/sim b/kneeling squat beside (cancelled) + talk: listen/rub chin.






Some notes:
- If you do not use the magisplay tray, you sim will come completely out of the first pose before the overlay animation has finished.
- I would recommend enabling the slowmotion cheat to make it easier to pause before placing the sim on the magisplay tray. I generally set mine on 5 for all photoshoots.
- Never save your game with a sim on the magisplay tray.
- These overlays can be used in conjunction with the OMSP’s.
